History Of New Hampshire

New Hampshire was the first state to have its own state constitution. New Hampshire was the 9th state to ratify the U.S. Constitution. The final state needed to put the document into effect. The colony that became the state of New Hampshire was founded in 1629. The textile industry was hit hard by the depression but after the World War II, New Hampshire's economy started to grow. In 1997, Portsmouth is chosen by Money magazine as the fifth best place in the nation to live.
