History Of San Diego
The Europeans came to the area in 1542. In the 1820s, about 600 people lives in the city. In the 1870s, people came to work at the railroad and with mining. Schools, hotels, electric street lights and the first transit system were built. And in the 1880s, about 35,000 people lived in San Diego. With the military presence, the city grow more and more and in the 1930s, about 148.000 people lives in the city.
